Is there more Kinetic Energy or Gravitational Potential Energy in the world? This is a very good question. Lets take a look at some facts to decide. First of all we need to define these words. Kinetic energy (KE) means the energy of motion and Gravitational Potential Energy (GPE) means stored energy or more simply any object that is lifted of the ground has GPE. Now lets look at KE. One example of KE would be someone walking there dog. Both the person and the dog have KE because they are both moving. But if both the dog and the person were running they would have more KE than if they were walking because the bigger and faster the object the more KE. Therefor the person also has more KE than the dog. Another example of KE is a car driving down the street. The car would have more KE than a bike because it is both bigger and faster. You always have some kind of KE. Your body has KE when your heart is pumping or your lungs are inflating and deflating so your body has KE 24/7. On the other hand there is also a lot of GPE in the world. For example when you hold your phone it has GPE, but if you drop your phone that GPE turns into KE. A baseball could have GPE and when the pitcher throws it the GPE becomes KE. Last a water balloon has a GPE and when you drop it on your brother it turns into KE. In my opinion there is more KE in the world because so many things have KE and GPE will always eventually turn into KE. To conclude I think that there is more KE than GPE in the world.
